Vision and Values
Fundamental to any fundraising work are clear organisational vision and values statements. These underpin your entire fundraising strategy and form the basis of your fundraising priorities. Donors are attracted by your vision and by understanding what is important to you. They want to know how joining you will help them to achieve your shared purpose. TFA can lead this work with your governance and leadership teams, helping you distil your ‘why’ into priorities, goals and messaging that attracts people to your purpose.
Philanthropic Governance and Leadership
We provide governance and executive-level insight into the philosophy and fundamentals of best practice fundraising, equipping charitable leaders to support effective and ethical fundraising for their organisation. This understanding enables strategic decision making about where, when and how to invest your efforts, in line with your fundraising strategy, and offers leadership approaches that inspire and empower fundraisers.
Typically, these coaching and learning sessions cover different topics (e.g. strategic risk and opportunity; major donor engagement and stewardship; how fundraising policies and procedures reduce organisational risk) and are delivered over six weeks, but can be adapted to suit your organisational needs.

Fundraising Readiness
Before diving into any significant fundraising activity - especially capital fundraising campaigns - planning is essential. We take your Board and fundraising leaders through the essentials for your success, including the resources - human, data and financial – you can call upon across your organisation, and consideration of the wider environment in which your campaign would operates. This understanding will ensure you are ready for future challenges and give your fundraising programme the best chance of success.
Fundraising Essentials and Leadership
Delivery of your strategy and programmes relies on your organisational fundraising capability, team planning and development. To equip, upskill and empower your fundraisers and fundraising leaders we can provide learning support ranging from the fundamentals of philanthropic fundraising, resources required to fundraise well, and the full range of fundraising streams available, through to leadership support. This might include approaches to engage leadership and governance members in understanding, driving and embedding a culture of philanthropic fundraising throughout the organisation.
Mentoring and Strategic Support
Sometimes you just need someone experienced to talk things through with. Based on our own extensive experience, we offer mentoring and support for fundraisers, CEOs and leadership teams - whether that’s guidance on a specific challenge, support working through a strategy or programme, help preparing for donor conversations, or simply having a trusted sounding Board alongside you. Support can be ongoing or ad hoc, depending on what is most useful for you and your organisation.
I was looking at it from a long-term perspective, not just for the fundraising strategy, but to upskill our team to work on new opportunities that we had identified for the future. It’s really important to me that our team are focused and learn the right way to fundraise.
